Women-Led Spaces for Change
Despite being disproportionately impacted by the Syrian conflict, women remain significantly underrepresented in the political processes beginning to shape the country’s future. The Promoting Women-Led Spaces for Change program, an 18-month program launched in 2022, aims to address this imbalance. The initiative provides technical and financial resources to women-focused organizations (WFOs) across all regions of Syria to increase policy advocacy around gender equality and inclusivity.
The project has worked with 120 local civil society organizations, offering specialized training in advocacy management and negotiation skills. By establishing safe discussion spaces that bring together grassroots activists and women in leadership roles, the project seeks to bridge political and geographic divides. These focus group discussions enable women to build a unified force for political reform and inclusive governance.
Funded by UN Women, the program leverages IMPACT’s extensive experience in women’s support to ensure women claim their rightful place in decision-making and conflict resolution.
