Community leaders mentorship workshop


IMPACT – Civil Society Research and Development e.V., founded in Berlin in 2013, is a non-profit civil society organization with offices in Iraq, Turkey, and Syria. Civil society support is the core of IMPACT’s mission through long-term and balanced support to individuals and organizations in conflict and developed countries. IMPACT’s main areas of intervention include capacity building, research, peacebuilding, and diaspora engagement.


The overall objective of the training is to build the capacity of community activists on intervention tools and skills. The primary purpose of the Community activist’s mentorship workshop is to impart practical knowledge concepts of the civil society interventions. The training participants will be equipped with practical skills on how to define the priority areas and stockholders.


The assignment is to impart 3 days of training workshop in three rounds, 2 preparation day and 2 reporting day, in total 13 days,

  • The training is aimed to achieve following objectives:
  • Participants have knowledge about the significance of strategic intervention in community movements.
  • Participants understand the impact of stakeholder engagement on community initiatives.
  • Participants have knowledge of facilitation skills tailored for identifying intervention priorities.
  • Participants understand the importance of values like impartiality and inclusivity.
  • Participants in the forming groups have clear intervention plans.
  • Participants in the forming groups have the awareness of how to consider social sensitivity during their interventions.

It is important to emphasize the significance of considering the local context during the training sessions and ensuring sensitivity to societal dynamics when designing the training activities.


    • Deliver using a blended learning approach and might comprises of presentations, interactive sessions of practical exercise and group works.
    • Practical sessions using individual, or group exercises will be given to participants after each session to make sure that they can apply what they have learnt into practice immediately.
    • Participatory training methods such as brainstorming, simulation, group discussion and case analysis.

    • Following deliverables are expected from the training provider:
  • Trainer will prepare agenda/contents/sessions of the training and submit these at least one week before start of the training.
  • Trainer shall conduct pre-test from all participants of the training.
  • Trainer will also share complete package of training material that may be provided to the participants.
  • Trainer will facilitate preparation of training follow up and action plan.
  • After the completion of the training, the trainer will share comprehensive training report on the agreed format within 10 days after the completion of the training.

    • The training will be online over ZOOM platform.

    • This is a short-term assignment for individual consultants for a period of 3 days training in three rounds and 4 days preparation and reporting ( 13 days in total ). Tentatively this assignment will be in September 2023 (dates shall be confirmed).

    • The trainer/consultant/resource person will:
      • Sign with IMPACT a consultancy agreement and work as a resource person for the 9 days training event and 4 days reporting and preparation( 13 days in total).
      • Discuss and agree with IMPACT on the final training package, content and deliverables.
      • Design an appropriate process of the training leading to the desired results.
      • Propose on the most appropriate training methodology for effective delivery of the assignment.
      • Device the tools required for each session of the training.
      • Satisfactorily facilitate the training sessions and ensuring active engagement of all the participants.
      • Share relevant training materials and provide any resource materials for further reading and reference by trained staff.
      • Design a questionnaire for pre and post-test (to be used before and after the workshop) for workshops to gauge the level of understanding of the participants about the topics discussed in the training workshop.
      • Compile and submit quality training report (one soft copy)

    • The resource person/consultant should possess following qualifications and expertise:
      • Community leader’s mentorship workshop
      • An advanced degree in the Social Sciences is preferable. Post graduate qualification in leadership and diversity or related areas is a clear advantage.
      • Traceable previous training work, knowledge, experience and passion for civil society and community participation.
      • Excellent report writing and tool development skills are requirement for the development of the tools and policy.
      • Strong communication, analytical and drafting skills
      • Fluency in Arabic and English is mandatory.
      • The trainings must conduct in Arabic language.

    • Consultant/resource person/ firms are required to submit their technical and financial proposals the IMPACT HR department via the link


    • The technical proposal should include but not limited to the following information:
      • A brief outline of recent experience and client references in carrying out assignments of similar nature (Max. 1 pages)
      • Detailed description of how the consultant/firms understands and will respond to the ToR including time frame.
      • Curriculum Vitae of trainer

    • The financial proposal must contain overall quotation in Euro for all the services to be provided and must follows the following:
      • Summary of the total costs for the services proposed.
      • Any taxes applicable

    • 100% of the payment will be released to the trainer after completing the training.
