Position description

A partnership officer will be responsible on the overall communication with partners and donors, mainly focusing on all activities related to fundraising, representation in different fora and advocacy, the partnership officer may also be tasked to oversee the communication outlets of the organization.

Partnerships officer will be reporting to the deputy director and working with project managers and country office managers.
In details, the position can be covering these tasks:


  1. Coordinating the communication with potential institutional partners carried out by other members/departments of the organization
  2. Preparing and managing legal documents for institutional partners, such as NDA,
  3. Coordinating the representation of the organization in different networks


  1. Leading the proposal development process with the relevant departments and partner organizations, as well as review and finalizing proposal documents
  2. Developing concept notes and proposals, including related documents required for the realization of the project and by donors e.g. logical framework, implementation plan, timetable, budget justification …etc.
  3. Mapping potential donors and funding opportunities, and working with organization offices in different countries
  4. Advising the management on the existing opportunities and setting the fundraising plan
  5. Documenting contact with donors and partners, including bids
  6. Hiring and supervision on the work of external consultants for grant development upon need and management approval
  7. Communication with donors before, during and after the submission of the proposal, and ensuring a smooth transition to program staff


    1. Updating the communication strategy and material of the organization
    2. Publishing and Oversight on public communication outlets of the organization
    3. Organizing and unifying the organization public image, and approving messages for publishing by other departments
    4. Developing a Communication risk plan
    5. Hiring consultants for communication-related tasks, including visual designer, communication specialists, translation, etc…

Knowledge and experience

The organization is seeking a results-oriented person motivated to raise funds for IMPACT, someone who is a natural and genuine relationship builder. The ideal candidate has:

  • At least 3 years working in fundraising and or communications in the non-profit sector;
  • A proven track record in working on projects targeting the Middle east or conflict areas, experience in Syria and Iraq is a plus;
  • Demonstrated experience in managing people, processes and deadlines to achieve partnership goals;
  • Strong writing skills that convey mission, values, and goals in ways compelling to our supporters;
  • A proven track record in successfully securing grants from major donors, corporations, and individual partnerships and trusts, and skilled in establishing and managing relationships and partnerships with private and institutional donors and other counterparts;
  • Strong experience stewarding donors and knowledge of portfolio management;
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills for developing fundraising and communications strategies;
  • Experience in applying to EU and US grants, especially in development and research projects;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, deal with ambiguity and the ability to reset priorities quickly if needed;
  • Well-organized, detailed-oriented and capable of handling confidential information with utmost discretion;
  • Ability to work occasional non-standard hours including evening and weekends;
  • Knowledge of IT, new media for communications and fundraising and experience in managing a communications function is a plus;
  • Knowledge of Arabic or German is a plus;
